"I was really surprised that these pictures worked. It was a hand held shot through the double skinned plastic window of a 747 pointed straight down at 30 thousand feet or so - a combination of luck, image stabilization and a little post-processing. A nunatak (I found out from Wikipedia) is an exposed rocky ridge, mountain, or peak within an ice field. Very beautiful - I was so pleased to find out that there was a word for it..."
